"Renaissance Runway" Costume Contest Weekend - July 23 and 24, 2011. Saturday July 23 will be for Fantasy Costumes and Sunday July 24 will be for Historical Costumes. Sign up for this event will be at the Guest Relations Gazebo.
From lords and ladies in full Renaissance regalia to Trekkies and fairies, World War II re-enactors or Ancient Greek gods, Bristol's costume contest welcomes all expressions of creative couture. Saturday is fantasy day (anything goes, from wizards to bananas!). Sunday is history day (authentic dress from Ancient Rome to World War II). There will be separate contests for children on both Saturday and Sunday in Bristol's Kids Kingdom. There is no additional fee to enter the costume contest.
Interested patrons will register at the Guest Services Gazebo and will be given a number to attach to the back of their costume. Ten anonymous judges will be surveying the entries throughout the day. Semi-finalists will be announced at the Globe Stage at 5:30 p.m. One champion each day will win $100 cash and tickets to the Faire. Second and third place finalists will also win Faire tickets.
