IRWINDALE, California (January 21, 2009)... Wanted: Talented, interactive, energetic performers to serve as time travel guides. The Time: The English Renaissance (circa 1540 -1603). The Place: The Renaissance Pleasure Faire at the beautiful Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area in Irwindale, CA. The Travelers: An audience of thousands looking for an opportunity to experience YOU!

The Renaissance Pleasure Faire offers a range of unique performing opportunities. We emphasize performer/audience interaction; performers create their own dialogue on the spur of the moment, and experience immediate response from each audience member. The Renaissance Pleasure Faire is casting improvisational actors and historical re-enactors for the run of the Faire to portray the many varied citizens of our exotic port town in Queen Elizabeth's England.

Classes and rehearsals begin March 7, 2009. The Faire runs weekends from April 4 through May 17, 2009.

Performers at the Faire develop tremendous confidence, audience awareness, and character scale. All new performers are placed in the Renaissance Academy of Performing Arts (RAPA).

The Faire's Guilds and Troupes are seeking participants to re-enact the varied and rich society of the Elizabethan English Renaissance.

Join us Saturday, March 7th at 9:00 a.m. for our Orientation and Welcoming meeting. You will get an opportunity to learn about the Faire guilds and troupes that are currently accepting new participants. You'll also have a chance to meet Directors and Guildmasters one-on-one. You can become an apprentice with us and get important information and dates for the 2009 season. Be prepared to stay until about 4:00PM. All are invited to attend. You do not need to schedule an appointment at this orientation session; just be there at 9am.
